As of Wednesday the Limekiln-Cedar River Road was still solid in the driving lanes and a little soft on the sides. The only area where the road itself was a bit soft was a 1/2-mile stretch along the Moose River Plains, from the Otter Brook intersection heading East.
Despite this week’s rains the course should be solid overall. The newer road surfaces in the East half of the Moose River Recreation Area drain exceptionally well and will be hard and fast.
The rain is supposed to stop around midnight but there will definitely be some puddles in the Plains tomorrow… We’ve had rain for three days straight! It might be muddy but nothing like 2011’s epic slog!
The Indian Lake and Inlet highway departments have done a great job of maintaining the roads and we owe them a HUGE thanks!
Both shuttles are sold out. If anyone wants or needs to swap or sell shuttle spots go to the Black Fly Buzz forum and communicate directly with each other there.
The Limekiln-Cedar River Road is in very good condition. The driving lanes are solid and the sides are a bit soft – typical for this time of year.
If we don’t get too much preceipitation before race day it could be very fast – again!
